The motives and the scale of intervention
The reason the CCF has carried out active military intervention in the Korean war at the time was of the following reasons. First, To maintain the communist government at the Korean Peninsula for their country¡¯s own security. The CCF joined the Korean War in order to insure the North Korean territory as a neutral zone. Second, To acquire the necessary economic and military support from Soviet Union Third, To seek for political and social stability. They joined the overseas war as an expedient to eliminate or solve internally instable factors.Fourth, To seize political leadership at Southeast Asia by affecting directly and indirectly in the communist operations rising at the whole area in the Southeast Asia, to emphasize their position in the world and restrain the intervention of U.S in Taiwan and to exercise the leading influence in the U.N representatives by supporting the North Korean communist government at the time just prior to being defeated at the Korean war.
At the time CCF has intervened in the Korean war at October, 1950, 5 army corps, 25-27 troops, 75~81 divisions were under the command of 5 field armies under the name of Communist Chinese People's Volunteers Army and participated in the Korean war.
